- Flour: All-purpose flour.
- Oats: Old-fashioned oats work best for texture, but instant oats will work in a pinch just make sure you're not using the instant oatmeal packets.
- Brown Sugar: Coconut sugar, granulated sugar, maple sugar are all great options.
- Cinnamon: A pinch of nutmeg also works beautifully.
- Butter: Unsalted, real butter.

- Dairy-free: Swap butter for vegan butter or coconut oil
- Gluten free: Use almond flour or Gluten Free flour instead.

Granny Smith apples are my go-to for baking because of their tartness, but Honeycrisp apples are always in my fridge. They’re firm enough to hold their shape and perfect for both baking and snacking. They are so many different type of apples use your favorite kind!

Make the crumb topping.
In a medium bowl, add all the topping ingredients mix to combine. Use your hands or a fork to mix until crumbly, with both small pieces and larger chunks. Set aside.
Prepare the ramekins.
Grease two ramekins or spray with cooking spray for easy cleanup.



Prep the apples.
Wash, peel, and dice the apples into 1-inch pieces. Place them in a small bowl and add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Toss until evenly coated.


Assemble.
Divide the apple mixture evenly between the ramekins. Top each apple crisp with half of the topping.
Bake.
Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a knife easily slides through the apples.
