Hello there!
I’m Jenny! I am the recipe developer, food photographer for Of Jen Sweets.
Here you’ll find bakery worthy recipes that you can make at home to share with your friends, family and loved ones!
How it all started
I’ve always loved food, especially sweets, even from a young age. I grew up making Betty Crocker box mixes and eating jarred rainbow chip frosting with a spoon.
I have 5 sisters and am the fifth child. So, you can say my life was full of girls, drama, and most importantly, love.
I live the typical Asian immigrant story. My parents traveled to America for a better life, working hard to raise us.
My mother loved cooking and baking. I believe this is where my passion for it stems from. To this day, she’s probably baking or cooking.
As kids, my sister and I always visited the cookbooks section at the public library. The first recipe we tried and loved was Mrs. Fields Surprise Filled Cookies— buttery cookies with jam-filled centers and powdered sugar on top.
My sister baked often, and eventually, I started too. Although my early attempts weren’t great, I was determined and decided to go to culinary school.
I went to culinary school and worked in a few bakeries, but things changed, steering me away from the field.
I am currently a stay-at-home mom to currently five under five.
I wanted to start a baking blog to share my recipes so you can bake at home too.
I knew that creating a blog would nurture my passion for baking and help me find peace during the busy days of motherhood.
In doing so, I can share my love of baking with others who enjoy it just as much as I do.
